The starting police officer salary for new constables is: £28,551. Over 7 years, subject to a simple performance review, you can earn up to £46,044

As you are promoted through the ranks, you can expect to receive an increase in your police officer salary, as indicated below.

  • Sergeants £49,077 – £51,498
  • Inspectors £58,422 – £63,198
  • Chief Inspectors £64,449 – £68,082
  • Superintendent £77,121 – £90,717
  • Chief Superintendent £95,094 – £103,242
