The role
Here at Northumbria Police, we think our region is amazing! This could be the perfect time for you to join us in our Information Management Unit as a Support Services Administrator.
In this role, you’ll provide a range of administrative and support services to help achieve the department’s objectives. You’ll be the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including officers, staff, courts, children’s services, local authorities, private solicitors, CAFCASS, and members of the public.
Your responsibilities will include carrying out quality assurance of formal applications and circulating documentation to relevant authorities, ensuring our force meets all legal obligations. What you’ll do
- First point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including officers / staff, courts, children’s services, local authorities, private solicitors, CAFCASS and members of the public.
- Respond to enquiries from internal and external customers, providing guidance on processes and redirecting to relevant staff when required, to enable all requests and proceedings to progress and ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
- Maintain local and computerised databases to contribute to the collection, collation and dissemination of information.
- Maintain efficient and effective filing systems, ensuring that documents are stored in a logical manner and easily retrieved when required.
- Respond to requests from key stakeholders ensuring that requests are complete and that the relevant documentation is included. Update the internal recording systems ensuring the request is opened and closed.

What you’ll bring
- Ability to work in an office environment, independently developing skills without direct supervision.
- Ability to maintain and improve management systems, whilst liaising with key stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise workloads in support of departmental aims, multitask effectively, expedite administrative tasks while maintaining accuracy, act with confidentiality, tact, and discretion, and demonstrate excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Confidence to identify and report problems or issues, maintain a professional attitude to work, and able to work both as part of a team and independently.

Terms of appointment
This is a permanent role subject to a six-month probationary period.
If you are successful in your application, you will have a six-month probation period with us where you will be unable to apply for any other post advertised internally or externally.
