Administration, Cleaning and Logistics
Our Business Services teams are located force-wide. From cleaners, maintenance operatives and vehicle technicians to customer services staff, administrators and many more, these roles are the backbone of our organisation.
Communications Centres
Our communications centre teams manage the thousands of 999 emergency and 101 calls and online requests that we receive each week. They’re supported by staff in the front offices and the customer service centre to help us manage demand from the public.

Custody
We have more than 100 detention officers who assist custody sergeants in processing people who have been arrested and detained in custody. Detention officers also have responsibilities relating to the care and welfare of detainees.

Our in-house accountants, pension & payroll officers, procurement experts and financial advisors balance our books and deliver first class service to the organisation.
Fleet
The highly-skilled Fleet team look after the hundreds of police vehicles across our force – from the van that transports our police horses, to the unmarked vehicles, the 999 response cars to the high-powered Volvos used by our Traffic cops.

Our lawyers, legal secretaries and litigation assistants represent the force at court for employment matters and inquests. Our prosecution advisors help to prepare case files for court whilst other specialists co-ordinate the support for victims and witnesses in the criminal justice system.
