Are you prepared for transferring?
We will do our best to accommodate your wishes for location preference as part of the recruitment process but this will depend on the vacancies available at the time of posting, your skill set and the Force’s current priority areas. As a result you can be posted anywhere within the force area.
This does not prevent you from applying; however should you be successful you will be required to make an application for flexible working which will be based upon the shift pattern where you will be based. Any application will need to be balanced with your needs and those of the force.
Yes you may apply, however you must have returned to your force prior to any transfer taking place.
If successful at interview, you will be required to pass the fitness test. It is therefore expected that you will be fit and currently fulfilling your current role at the time of applying.
If you have been successful at the interview stage we will contact your HR and Professional Standard Department, but other than this it is up to you at which point you inform your force of your intention to transfer.
Should you be successful at interview you should not provide any resignation to your current force until your pre-employment checks have been completed and you have received written notification of a transfer date. We will always endeavour to give you at least 28 days’ notice of your transfer date.
Training will be subject to the requirements of the role. For officers transferring or rejoining from non-home office forces this may include an analysis of any skill or knowledge gaps.
Unfortunately the Force is not able to meet removal or relocation cost for transferees.
