What do I need?
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent relevant experience) in Information Technology, Software Engineering or Computer Science
- Experience of designing systems that meet the architecture principles and support the business outcomes
- Broad and deep understanding and knowledge of information services and information technology
- Demonstrable expertise in the use of appropriate tools/technologies for the design, development, build, testing and deployment of a wide range of applications
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical issues in a clear manner to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Software delivery lifecycle experience
Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Solutions Architect with innovative ideas around how technology can positively transform services and effectively address business challenge? Would you like to play a key role in serving your community through the provision of exciting new digital solutions that will support our police officers and staff to deliver an outstanding policing service?
We’re looking for a talented Solutions Architect to fully understand our business needs as well as the Digital portfolio that will support them. You’ll be an excellent problem solver who can effectively assess impact, risk and constraints associated with the options. You’ll be able to clearly define and document the options available to support a viable business case for a given solution, whilst challenging our current digital footprint to ensure that innovative technology remains at the forefront of our service delivery.
You’ll be able to communicate effectively with both technical colleagues and business users to ensure that force technical standards are applied in all solution design.
What will I be doing?
You will work closely with Technology Partners, End Users and Business Analysts to understand business challenges and constraints before exploring and presenting options for digital solutions to address business need.
You will also manage Solutions Design documentation ensuring that governance and standards are fully considered and followed while owning the Technology Standards Register.
You will offer consultancy and advice around digital solutions/enhancements and actively support the delivery lifecycle of solutions and the Force’s roadmap of change, providing quality assurance.
