The role

Northumbria police are looking to recruit an experienced, creative and forward thinking senior manager to design and drive the Force’s analytical capability. The post holder will be a key member of the Crime Senior Management Team and will have Force wide responsibility for delivery of analytical support. The role will require a clear understanding of the Forces mission, vision and values.

What will I be doing?

As part of this role you will be responsible for the production of research and analytical products that drive activity across serious and organised crime investigation. Your work will support both the force and strategic priorities by designing, embedding and maintaining force intelligence analytical functions. You will need to deliver consistent software products for multiple stakeholders at all levels of the force that meet functional requirements. You will maximise the effectiveness of these analytical tools by monitoring and improving standards and techniques, ensuring they drive business across the force and with partners.

What do I need?

You must have considerable depth of knowledge, skills and practical experience of analytical tools, techniques and technology. You must also be able to demonstrate your:

o Outstanding management skills and associated experience to operate at this level, delivering results through high performance and effective leadership.

o Effective organisation, in order to manage fluctuating workloads and be able to organise and prioritise competing demands to ensure high quality service delivery.

o Excellent communications skills to lead, influence, negotiate and manage professional relationships with senior officers, staff, partners and agencies (internal & external).

o Ability to keep up to date with current developments and future innovations within the analytical arena, including national knowledge and best practice techniques.
