Training and Probation
We have the opportunity to train the best to be the best!
For your first two years you are classed as a probationary officer and you will experience a range of learning opportunities in both a classroom setting and operationally. This will cover aspects of legislation, investigation, communication and leadership skills which will be consolidated through hands on practical exercises.
From your first day, we are looking to shape your development so expect to be challenged, take personal responsibility for your learning; and be pushed out of your comfort zone.
For your first 12 weeks you will be classroom based and your working day will generally be 08:00 to 16:00 although some evening and weekend work is included. On the last day of your course a graduation event will take place which can be attended by your family and friends.
You will spend the next 10 weeks with a Tutor Constable in your new team at an Area Command. A further week of classroom training will follow, then it is back to Area Command to embed your learning and complete your probation.
